Even though, this RM-1188 has limited potential
as a server/workstation
case (its flaw being that its backplane can only support the Venus I/O
Shield configuration), its biggest advantage is the simple fact that there
are a total of 3 accessible drive bay in the front of the case.
Unlike other 1U Case, these are not slim style bay either. There are 2
half
height 5.25" bay plus one 3.5" (think Floppy) Bay. They're Great
for
CD Rom, 5.25 Tape Back-Up Drive, Card Reader, and/or any thing in 5.25"
and 3.5" size.
Most customer build a 1U Tape Back-Up / Removable Hard Disk Storage
Station with this 1U Case. We can also provide the SCSI Ribbon and
connectors, if needed.
Should you want to squeeze a motherboard inside, there is room in this
1U GH-188-ATX case for 12 x 9.6" Size motherboard. You will have to
trim
your motherboard's I/O shield to fit the opening in the back of the case.
Or you could just leave it open. But most people do trim their Aluminum
I/O Shield to fit.
